I have a Fat 50s (6.2K)in the neck, 57/62 (5.8K) in middle, and a Seymour Duncan SSL-5 (12.9K) in the bridge. Should pickups be within the same range of each other? Is there a reason for it? Im trying to decide if i should get the Fat 50s for the middle as well just to balance it out a little more, although i dont have a problem with the 57/62. I really like the pickup setup i have. Is it better to have pickups within the same range because of tonal flexibility or what?

You've clearly answered your own question. YOU are happy and satisfied with your present pickup combo (and placement of them). Therefore, there is absolutely NO reason to change them nor do they need to be for any reason and DON'T let anyone convince you otherwise!

That's close to what is in the Gilmour Strat. Just add something like a CS 69 in the middle. Gilmour spec.

Exactly. If you like it, what's the problem? It's conventional to have them all in the same range so that the volume is roughly the same (though D.C. res. doesn't necessarily correlate to volume), but that's about it. As long as you like the sound, you should be fine. After all, your guitar comes with its own volume knob.
