I just got a new set of Hot Noiseless Pickups. They're still in the box.
I have two MIM Strats...a 2002 MIM and a 2006 MIM. I've read several posts about how people feel the '06 model is an improvement over previous years...in part because of better sounding pickups. I, too, have found that I prefer the sound of my stock '06 compared to my stock '02 Strat. The tone, especially the bass tones, seem to ring out with more clarity and is more bell-like with more sustain instead of sounding a bit "thumpy."
So..the plan is to install the Hot Noseless PUs into the '02 Strat to see what kind of tone I'll get. I know I will like the lack of hum.
Anyone care to share their feelings about the Hot Noiseless PUs and predict what I may expect from them?
Also, anyone have any advice on how to install them?

At the risk of giving you a, "politician's answer" regarding the Hot Noiseless Pickups, some love them, some hate them and some are ambivalent about them.

What you can expect is a slightly louder than the norm, Strat pickup with a slightly more, "in your face" tonality due to the ceramic magnets. They will lean more towards 'cutting' than 'sweet'.

For this pickup set, I'd use all 250K Alpha pots for them with a .047uf capacitor. I'd also wire the upper tone control so that it affect both the neck and middle pickups and wire the lower tone control so that it affects the bridge pickup. YMMV.

I sort of disagree with the last post regarding tone. I have these in my main player, and get more than usual mid range from these, especially compared to the regular "Noiseless" which have more high, but are closer to a "strat" sound then more other aftermarket pickups.

That said, the guitar itself will figure into the tone quite a bit. If your 06 sounds better than the 02, it wlll probably sound better with these than the 02 as well.
