Hello,

I am trying to find a replacement fot the Dimarzio Tone Zone in the bridge position of my American Vintage Hot Rod 57. I love the neck and middle position pickup's (SCN's) tone. I want more of a single coil sound in the bridge too. Will I have to change the pot too? I can't find a wiring diagram on Fender's site either.

Thanks!

I think the DiMarzio site has a pickup picker. What sound are you after specifically? What do you not like about yours?

I should have been more descriptive......sorry about that. I play mostly rock and blues. I am looking for a true single coil sound with a nice bite to it. The Tone Zone in my HR 57 just sounds out of place to me. I do like the SCN's in it but they do sound a little muddy at times and too bassy. So in short I an looking for a nice true single coil sound with a edgy bite to it.

I think you could be very pleased with the area '61, if you're going after noiseless, and I think it'll be easier to wire since they all have four-conductor wiring. I haven't heard one bad review about them.

Good luck!
