I would like to age/relic my new Fender Strat Parchment Pickguard so it matches the Fender Aged White Plastic vol/tone knobs and pickup covers. Thanks for any info.

Some have had good luck with soaking it in coffee or tea, but pickguards take much longer than pickup covers and knobs do. It make take a two-day soaking to get the pickguard to darken.

Thanks for the info SMark. I will try that. If I soak the pickguard in Hot Coffee, will it warp the pickguard?

No reason to make it hot. Wait for it to come down to warm before dunking the pickguard.

Do I need to sand, or use steel wool first? Or will the coffee penetrate into the shiny pickguard finish? Thanks for any info.

It just takes more time when it's shiny. So dulling it a bit is a good thing if you're in a hurry, and it tends to look better anyway when it is dulled. More like real aging...
