Hello All,

I'm gonna get a new guitar cable and came across
these Fender Koil Kords that have that old timey look.
{Coiled up like the telephone cords used to be.}
I found some reviews that are pretty much mixed,
Anyone here use this product? Happy? Dissappointed?
If you can pass on any thoughts or comments--Many thanks.

Cheers.

A lot of guys don't like the molded ends, but I don't think they were referring to these cables specifically.

Are those new? I hadn't noticed them before.

I have a Fender coiled cord, from their older California series (IIRC). It worked and sounded just fine, but it's not my favorite coily (a Conquest Sound Wrapper is my fave).

I hope someone chimes in with a review of the Koil Kords.
Thanks for pointing them out.

Hello Orvilleowner,

I've got a GC gift certificate and with the
labor day sales I may just pick one up.
They're allegedly tangle free---

Cheers.

I use the vintage Vox coiled cord and i like it. Functionally it's the same but it looks cool! haha.

I'm waiting for someone to review these too. I've been using Mogami for recording, but these have a cool (or groovy) retro look for gigging.

The shielding is atrocious, but the capacitance is reasonably low.

Aside from mechanical issues, such as faulty/fragile plugs, these are the only two electronic factors that matter with Hi-Z instrument cables, period (much totally fake "science" in a certain notorious cable company's marketing notwithstanding ).

If you're working in an interference-free studio environment, you should be OK. Really, though, these are just nostalgia items "for fun."

Hello Besmotivnik,

Thanks, I'm in a interferance plus zone.
I decided to pass on them, they do look cool.

Cheers.
