Does Fender Vintage fit directly in the MIM's cavity or do we have to make it bigger?

They should be a direct fit.

From what I know to be true, many imported P-Bass pickups and their covers are ever so slightly larger than their American counterparts. I can only presume this is a metric vs. SAE thing. So, I'll go with the 99.9% surety.
