Don't you need a guitar with that single-coil Fender pickup ???

Those big single coil Mosrites are perfect for more music than they are given credit.

Not to say tho, the old Strat and old Jazzmaster and even small Gibson HBs do a fine, fine surf sound. But the big Mosrites are sensitive / noisy; an Electro-Harmonix Hum Debugger really works well with them.
