How are the 2008 American std pickups compared to previous models?? Better sounding? lower or higher output? Is it worth it to swap them for some Custom shop 54's or 69's?

The pickups are the same ones they used in the American Series, but are punchier sounding with the trem block and saddle upgrade.Have you actually played them? Most people dont usually swap them out. That usually reserved for the MIM guitars.I have an 08 American Standard with them in it and i really like them.

Yes, I've got a 08 am std, I'm not saying I don't like em, they sound really nice, but would like to know if it's worth it to swap them for a ser of custom pickups.

If you think your pickups sound really nice, then it is NOT worth it to replace them.

I like the sound of these pups the best of any standard Strat pups that I've heard lately. Raising and lowering the height makes a huge difference on the sound also.
