I bought an Ampeg bass at a garage sale with two Fender Telecaster bass pickups in it. I went to my local guitar shop and they said they were from the 1960s and they are really high output. I believe they are humbuckers. If anyone has any knowledge of what they truly are or how much they are worth, I'd greatly appreciate responses.

Thanks a lot
Matt

Hello,

I think they are probably worth somewhere between $150 and $350 a piece. If you go to ebay and run a seach on them you can get a good idea on what they will bring. But, I think most I have seen are in that price range. You might stop by a guitar shop and have the tech test the to make sure they are still good. Take a digital camera with you when you do and take a photo of the pickup with the Ohm meter showing the highest Ohm output while it is connected to the pickup. That way you can sell the pickup KNWOING it is still good, and you won;t get into a situation in whcih a buyer is upset because the pickup is 'dead, or they want to 'claim' it is dead, if you know what I mean.

Good luck!

Dan
