I'm planning on throwing these in my MIM strat, which I have an obsession with modifying.

Any opinions?

Your guitar will be sounding like "a Strat on steroids."

The read is promising; there's only one sure way to find out!

I know this is beyond a bump, but nobody really talks about Lace Chrome Domes so I figured I'd speak up.

I've had these in my strat for a while now and they're phenomenal. You could literally say a strat on steroids like the ad says.

The high notes (primarily bridge pickup) are full of power, but unlike some strat pickups, the treble is under control and doesn't make your ears bleed. The low notes (neck pickup, my personal favorite) are bluesy but not muddy. When you use any type of distortion with these pickups you're still right at home with the classic strat sound. You can still get the old school quack, and even with heavy heavy distortion (though I don't enjoy it myself), the pickups come through clear and musically. The middle pickup is the perfect blend of both, and provides a nice rhythm tone. Overdrive with these pickups is sweet and responsive, and when playing clean it sounds likes strat heaven, perfect bell-like tone that would make the devil weep for days.

I took a chance buying these and I'd definitely buy again.

I guess a lot of folks don't realize this, but the Chrome Domes are very similar to Hot Gold Lace Sensors. The differences are pretty much the metal covers and the RWRP middle pickup in the Chrome Dome set.

The Hot Golds are probably my favorite Strat pickup of all time.

Love my set! I've got them wired up to the Clapton Mid-boost kit with S-1 Switching....
