Hi, people!

I'm new here at Fender forum... this is my firt topic. I was looking aroud and I did'n find anything that coul anwser my question.

I have a Fender American Standard 1997, all original. I LOVE it, but I just bought a Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue (2007), and I'm findin' my guitar a little too sparkly (I'm brazilian, and I don't know if this is the right word for it...). I feel it's too much treble... and... you know... "tec tec tec"... i think sparkly is the right word.

I've heard the the Vintage Noiseless are less sparkly (or is a lçittle less bright) than the original American Standard. Is it true? Is it smoother?

Thanks a lot!
Mauricio

I think you should skip the Vintage Noiseless and go with the Hot Noiseless instead. They aren't really all that hot as much as they are just smoother, and you don't lose much of that classic Strat chime either.

The Vintage Noiseless can have a razors edge to them when you set them up as recommended. I think you'd be much happier with the Hot Noiseless.

SMark,

what are the differences between the Vintage and the Hot Noiseless?

I never played in a guitar with the Hot... just the Vintage.

Thank's a lot, man!

The Hot Noiseless is really a different design altogether, and a better one IMO. It uses ceramic magnets rather than alnico. I have both the Vintage Noiseless and the Hot Noiseless and I like the Hot Noiseless much better.

I have the Vintage Noiseless in my 1997 American Strat, and I love them. I've never played the Hot Noiseless, so I can't compare, but I really like the VNs. The bridge Pup can be bright, so I would recommend wiring it to your 2nd tone pot, and rolling it down a little bit. All in all, I think the VNs are more lively (less sterile) than the SCNs, which I have played.

If you do go with the VNs, try setting them low in the pickguard. I've heard from a lot of people that are initially dissappointed with them that lowering the height of the Pups helps a lot.

if you want a smoother sound, try the hot noiseless.

I love the vintage noiseless, but they have a hell of a bite to them.
