I have a Seymour Duncan Acoustic Tube that sounds pretty good and a Fishman RareEarth Humbucker that sounds as good as just about any onboard system I've heard. They are both soundhole pickups and while you could probably find the Duncan for less than $50 if you do some shopping, the Fishman will set you back a bit more than that. If you're looking for something just to get the job done without sounding like you just picked the cheapest one, Dean Markley makes a couple of decent sound hole pickups that are more than adequate at amplifying an acoustic. Personally, if I had a DG- 8, I'd save my money to put towards a better guitar and just grab one of the Markleys. They really don't do a bad job at all. Your local store will probably let you try out whatever they have before you buy it and you most definitely should. I don't think it would be worth installing anything more expensive in a low end guitar. Although, I have my Fishman in a DG-22S.... Hope I didn't just add to your confusion.
