I use Earnie Ball for my Fender Strat. I started to change the Earnie Ball type, but I feel that I should try other types of strings. Any suggestions?

Hundreds of suggestions. You'll get asked if you play rock, metal, blues etc.

Go with the strings on the Stevie Ray, Eric Johnson or Kenny Wayne models if you like blues and rock.

I use Fender Super Bullets on Strats that get moderate trem use and D'Addarios or Fender Original 150s for other guitars.

My personal suggestion is to try out a bunch of different brands and gauges and find the ones that fit your playing style/feel.

Dean Markley Blue Steel. Best strings I've played so far.

I've been using Ernie Ball Slinky .10's for years. In every guitar. Although some times I use other types when given as gifts.

Go to a store and buy a few sets--try them out--Strings are cheap--leave them on for a week or two. If they go dead that quickly--don't buy them again--and stay away from store brands--they are cheap in quality.

I use GHS Boomers & sometimes Fender Super Bullets.
I have D'Addarios on my archtop.

Experiment.

I bought Elixir by recommendation from two guys at the store. Haven't put them on yet since I got 9's and now think I actually needed 10's. :?

What experiences do you all have with Elixirs?!?

I tried a couple of sets but ended up going with the Blue Steel's. They never felt "alive" but seemed to feel and sound dead to me, like they were worn out from day 1.

Well that sucks for the $15 price tag (I paid $9). I am going to try these, if I don't like them, I'll go to power slinkys. What about gauge?!? What would you consider the greatest difference in gauge. I always used 11's or 12's on my acoustic, and my New Fender came with 9's (they suck IMO).
