Hi, I'm new here and from the Netherlands (so excuse my English)

I've got a problem..bought an Eric Clapton Midboost kit and some Vintage Noiseless pups, wired everything together (into my strat) and plugged it in my amp.

With volume at 10, tbx at 5 and midboost off I get a nice clean sound. Turning up my midboost adds something (not what I remembered from my '89 Clapton Strat which I sold two years ago), but when I turn down my volume I get some extreme noise that only increases when turning down my volume to zero.

What went wrong? Did I fry my pot? Have I got a some shortwiring somewhere?

Hope someone knows and can tell me what to do to correct/find the cause of my problem..

Thanx, Jasper

Could be your battery is low. Usually if the clapton distorts around 5 the battery needs replacing. Don't know about noise, but might be worth checking

Hey Joost,

Thanks for your reply, I tried another battery, but that made no difference.
I looked at my wiring and the wiring schematics again and found out I missed one little piece of wire on the right side lug of the volume pot to ground, fixed it and... it works!!!!

I'm very happy now :D

great congrats! It makes for a very versatile guitar. I also like how you can just fatten up your single coil sound a bit, by putting the midboost on 1 or 2. With Unity gain at 7, there's a nice amount of clean boost in your Master Volume as well!
