In need of a pick up change for my 02 mexican maple neck strat. it is the model with the push/push switch between the two tone controls.
Currently unsatisfied with these PU's performance compared to my other strat, american standard with Dimarzio's.
Being played thru a 1953 Magnatone 15watts and a deluxe hot rod 40 watt.
Looking for keeping the distinctive strat sound at lower guitar volume control but want a higher gain when tweaked to 10, I'm playing late 60's to 70's to 80's rock and rythm and blues.
Any suggestions on a Pick up upgrade would be greatly helpful , love the guitar other than the pickup's performance.

Hot noiseless, Fat 50s or lace hot golds.

It's been quite a few weeks since the change.
actually the changes were more than just pickups.
(1) pickups changed to Samarium Cobalts Noiseless
(2) push/push switch was deleted.
(3) pickguard changed to red tortoise ( had to, since the removal of the push switch left a hole.
(4) Tuners changed to Sperzel locking ( gold)

one more addition has been a 600 champ , great practice amp.
the set up is mid 60's Vox Wah pedal, DOD FX60 stereo chorus, DOD FX25 envelope filter.
Amp choice is Limited Edition Hot Rod Deluxe, Black / Tan #55 ( these were a series of 165 amps made for Sam Ash stores.
1953 Magnatone Chorus 410
2009 Champ 600

What else could I possibly need?
ordering a Custom deluxe strat, thru the custom shop, aged cherry sunburst, 69 and texas specials. ( check out the custom website to see the specs and pics.

Took a Left turn again.
Scrapped the idea of the Custom Deluxe Strat, instead found an 8 year old
NOS 56 strat reissue in perfect shape (sunburst, gold hardware, maple neck), for much less than the Deluxe, only issue is the tuners need replacement with a better quality drop-ins and will switch the 3-way to a 5-way switch.
The previous owner kept this lil gem in it's case, rarely played.
My gain!!!!
