My last build was to replace my Highway I alanco pickups with a set of SCNs and a DH-1 from an American Deluxe and wired in an S-1 switching arrangement. The range of tones is excellent a big improvement over the original pickups. My question is does any one know if Fender sells the DH-1 pickups? I haven't been able to find any except on E-Bay (only had the black colors). I am looking for an aged white unit.

I don't use distortion modes in my playing. The DH-1 provides a clear crisp sound that I personally like. So I can't give you advise on the finer points of using the DH-1 for distortion. The only other humbucker I have at this time is the one that came with my Deluxe Power Strat and that can't compare to the DH-1.

I don't think that Fender sells the DH-1 as an aftermarket part. You'll probably have to find a used one for sale somewhere.

I found the fender part number for the DH-1 pickup on this site in the parts listings. There is a Fender Service Tech near me that will order most Fender parts as long as you know the part number. My next build will be a dual humbucker configuration utilizing at least one DH-1.
