There is a well written article on the basic workings of different pickups in the May issue of Guitar Player Mag. It goes into specific details on most pups. The windings, magnets, poles, bobbins etc. I learned quite a bit from it. Well worth the read for us novices! :wink:

There is also a forum member (smark) who is probably the most expert that I've heard from on this forum.

He's posted sound clips and knows a lot about pickups!

That's good to know Mike! Thanks a lot as I'm just beginning to grasp some knowledge on pickups the why,how, and why they are made so differently!
