I recently got a used set of vintage noiseless pickups. They came without the stock pots and caps as provided when new. The stock pots are 500k for tone and 250k for volume, unless I am mistaken. The seller of the pickups recommended using 1 meg pots to replace the 500k and 250k units. He said it was an improvement in high end and chime factor.
Has anyone made this mod to their vintage noiseless pickups, and does it make a discernable different in treble response, or any noticeable change? I don't want the pups to lose high end when the volume is turned down, like most passive units suffer from.

You won't lose treble response if you install a treble bleed cap which many people do anyway with their Strats.

1 meg is recommended but I heard that they sound better with 750k
