Just letting everyone know that Red Rhodes (velvet hammer) pickups
are back in production.
Red's son Jeff, has restarted the business.
So be careful on ebay regarding the RARE and sought-after pickups.
The new reissues will have no markings showing that they're RI.
It remains to be seen, if they'll be as good as the originals.

The new VH site is up - the new pickups have "Velvet Hammer" in script lettering. On the old ones I have it's block print. Hopefully this will help anyone trying to tell the difference - there should be no reason for confusion between new and old.

The older originals had script writting.

If you watch the pricing of originals on ebay, you'll see that they had
very solid vintage value.
This will no longer be the case because there is now no way to differ
between the originals and the reissues that will probley sell around
$30-50.00 used on ebay.
Red's pickup at one time sold as high as $150.00 a piece.
Even fender lets you know the differance between the originals and
a reissue product.
