Yeah, you can get one from a stinking, low-life, scum-sucking pirate.

What happened to the logo that was on it?

Fender does not sell the logo's by themselves. If you want a logo you have to buy the whole guitar.

remember offers of camel's, virgins and oil fields will greatly increase your chances of getting a logo out of em.

Just my two cents:

We all know why FMIC is legitimately so protective about their logos. Notwithstanding, regardless of the year, who was the first owner, etc, if a person has a genuine Fender which could use a replacement decal, FMIC should at least make them available through their service centers. The service center would be required to verify the guitar as a genuine Fender and as a precondition to this legitimate logo replacement, the service center would be mandated as the one to do the replacing. The usual warranty vs. non-warranty procedures would apply. All would be above board and this would certainly cut down on the existing piracy which abounds today (not to mention making the owner of the guitar real happy).

FWIW, years ago, I had a Fender 62 RI Strat. I had a puppy who licked the logo of the headstock, believe it or not. I wrote Fender with pictures of the guitar, the serial number, a copy of my receipt as the original owner and even a picture of the puppy too. They sent me a new decal.

Unfortunately, nowadays, the innocent must suffer for the sake of the guilty.

You can still get a real Fender decal if you can prove, as Martian did, that you have a real Fender guitar. (Check the FAQ's on this board for instructions.)

But I don't think you can get one for a neck, regardless of manufacture, from any one but a stinking, low-life, scum-sucking pirate.

Besides, I suspect the OP is just trolling. A real '08 MIA Fender neck that needs a new decal, because the old one got "scratched by something?"

You can get non-licensed headstock decal on various places on the internet for restoration purposes, though any misrepresentation or misinformation through using that decal would be fraud.

No... the very existence of those fake decals is a violation of trademark law. Those are not provided "for restoration purposes:" they are illegal decals sold by stinking, low-life, scum-sucking pirates.

Lots of people imagine that using Fender's (or anyone'es) trademark is A-OK as long as you don't try to "fool" anybody or don't make any money from it, but that's not correct. Trademark law has nothing to do with fraud, and everything to do with the trademark owner's right to control the use of the mark.

As I said in my reply, they are non-licensed, meaning counterfeit and not legal...And yes, I agree that most are probably sold by people to make counterfeit Fenders, but I also know of people who just chose to get the Fender logo for their own, non-resell projects, and while you yes, its a violation of trademark law, as long as they aren't killing anybody, or ripping anyone off I just don't see any harm in doing it (for a non-resell type project), but thats just my opinion, and you have yours...but anyone who has referred to tissue paper as Kleenex, or a marker as a Magic Marker has violated trademark law, and should be arrested immediately

What I'm telling you isn't my opinion, it's a fact. Fake Fender logos are illegal, no matter how pure your heart is and regardless of whether you intend to sell the finished object or not. "I don't see any harm" is meaningless, as is your reductio ad absurdum argument (obviously, speech isn't considered a trademark violation by anyone).

The fact that nobody from Fender has weighed in on this topic is a solid indication that they aren't even scanning this forum, let alone participating.
