What wah pedal do you think I should get or at least try out. Something that is good for a young and new guitarist. I have been taking a look at the Jimi Hendrix wah(old version) or should I try the new version. I would like to hear what you guys think because I have been looking to get my first wah and was just wondering what you guys think I should try. Thanks!

Hey, I got the Jimi Hendrix CryBaby (The new one) and I love it. I was wondering the same thing as you about a year ago, and so when I was in the States I stopped at a Guitar Centre and talked with the salesperson there for quite a while and compared it to the regular CryBaby. He recommended the Hendrix version because it was more likely to last longer, it's better built, and it has a nicer sound. It was only about $50 more so I figured why not, and haven't regretted it yet.

Hope this helps.

I use a Dunlop Classic Wah. I got it because out of all the wah pedals I tried and heard via the internet, I liked the Dunlop Classic Wah the best.

Greetings Fenderhead-

I have the Vox wah reissue and I swear by it. Very responsive and the control pedal is fluid- I tried the Crybaby and broke it-

The Freeze

I would choose any Crybaby model, the original is great, or the Vox. Avoid the cheap off-brand wah pedals; the sound could be thin and the construction could be flimsy. I don't like the Morley pedals, but some players do.

Have fun.

I have a Budda Bud-Wah that I like quite a bit. Very smooth and vocal sounding to me.

I have an original Cry Baby, and it's awesome. The wah on my Line 6 FBV, on the otherhand, kinda sucks, but most digital-esque one usually do.

I have a Morley wah (I got it free) - what do you think of the Morley? I plan on doing a side by side with some of the above mentioned pedals - just wanted to get some thoughts from the experienced players.

I still use an old Vox Wah Wah model V846 from the mid 60's. Like anything that old, it is tempermental, but sounds like nothing else built today.
I use it mostly as a tone shifter rather than the traditional wah function.
Which is not to be misunderstood that only vintage era is cool, " we all seek our own sound" That should be the reason for using whatever equipment you choose, not based on who, used what, when...
