I didn't like them very much, so I changed them out with Fender Vintage Noiseless pups. I like the VNs better.

Yes, I have always thought that the MIM std pickups are good pickups. I think because they are ceramic and not Alnico, people seem to have a bit of a bias against them. That being said, putting Tex Mex pups in mine was quite a drastic change, and I am never ripping those babies out.

I like MIM ceramics. I find their better for metal/punk tones than any of fenders top end replacements. I keep some in my spares box just for that reason.

I have no problem with the stock pickups in my Std Tele. Am actually quite surprised how full they sound (especially that tiny neck pickup).

When I had my MIM strat I'd convinced myself the standard pups were no good (I think I was just looking for an excuse to fit Texas Specials) but when I changed them I wasn't as overwhelmed and blown away by the new pups as I expected to be.

So many people on here seem to want to swap the pups on their new guitars almost as soon as they get them home. Best advice I can think of is leave it alone and play it for a while until you work out exactly what sort of sound you want to get. Pickups might not necesarily be the answer.

That being said (nice Tex Mex pickups) ...

If you like them, keep them.

mine have a really nice bite when i use the bridge, and i can get really raw bush-like drive using the bridge/mid. the neck and neck/bridge configurations are a little too muddy for my tastes, but i could be doing something wrong.

i love them, but with that said, i'll still be replacing them with 57-62 vintages.

I agree, I recently bought one of the new 09 mim strats and the pickups it came with are actually good for distortion , they sound kind of hybridish.. I like them :)

I ditched the Ceramic PUPS in my MIM Strat.

Yes they have their own sound, but they lack that Definative signature sound that makes them stand out like the others ie; my Fender Custom Shop TS's.

You should also check out Tonerider Pure Vintage PUPS They sound as vintage as anything i've heard. Awesome sound.

Always Fender and Always will be, but check out Toneriders.

i have a 2007 mim hss and a 2008 mia american standard sss and can honestly say the mia sound better to me but there is nothing wrong with the tone from the mim either. i simply prefer the mia's tone over the mim. 8)

I think they sound great. My only problem is that I needed more tone control for my guitar while I'm on stage, and I alter my sound a lot while I play. (especially mid-song)

I paid around 300 bucks for a handwired strat pickguard that has a lace red red dually in the bridge, lace silver in the mid, and lace blue in the neck. Add my coil split switch.. and my two tone knobs set for my neck pickup and my bridge.. as opposed to neck and mid....

...Well I was in heaven.

But my MIM pickguard with MIM pickups is currently on my Strat #2, and I use that for other musical endeavors.
