Hi guys, i dont have the money to buy a Gilmour signature guitar, i have an american standard 2008. I thought to change my pickups with those one that are on the gilmour signature :
# Neck pickup: Custom Shop Fat '50s Single-Coil Strat
# Middle pickup: Custom Shop '69 Single-Coil Strat
# Bridge pickup: Seymour Duncan SSL-5 Single-Coil Strat

I see that all those pickups are no hum cancelling, which bother me a bit. also the Neck pickup: Custom Shop Fat '50s Single-Coil Strat dont have nice review on the web.

Do you think that it would be a good choice to do this change or you have other suggestions ?

Thank for any help

Michael from Montreal

What is it that you *don't* like about your '08 American Standard pups?

I think they sound very good on mine.

I like them. I could ask why Gilmour do not use my pickups on his guitar? Should have a good reason why he dont use the same pickups as mine

i built my own black strat. i was given a set of Tonerider Blues pups. they sound nice to me. the neck i decided was acting up and i wanted a SSL-5 in the bridge so i bought the duncan and moved the old bridge to the neck. i also used an old .1 mF cap as aposed to gilmours .05mF. i am very happy with my setup. i will probably replace the neck and middle some day, the bridge is very hot and the neck and middle have a little trouble keeping up! i bought the duncan off ebay from user"rayscustomshop". they were very fast. the duncan is a must if your looking for floyd.

I see youve even added the toggle to activate the neck and bridge positions together
What wiring diagram did you find for this or did you just configure it yourself? I need to add one to MY homemade DG

looks great man! the black strat seems like the easiest strat to model a replica of.

i guess i'm not the only one with the same idea. i got a mexican strat at a pawn shop that somebody spilled a coke in so while i was cleaning out the trem cavity i figured what the hell. i got a black pickguard, kept the pickups and made my own. there's just something about a black strat and a maple neck for sure

I just got a good deal on a set of EMG SA's, the ones DG uses, and they sound fantastic.

That should be used, after he started to use the black strat again in 2003 the red one has not been played so much live......
