hi, i'd like my guitar tech to replace the 5way pick up switch and CTS pots of my 2002 Left Handed Fender American Standard Stratocaster, as they needs to be replaced because of too many bad solderings on it...

which is the right one to buy?is it the same for right and left handed guitars?

i see there are more than one version...and i'm al ittle confused..

it must be the same my stock guitar is equipped with.

(please, remember the circuit of the left handed model is different from the right handed one).

thanx so much!

Take a look under the 'hood' of your stock guitar, no?

How bad is the soldering? The pots don't necessarily need to be replaced, you can always remove the excess solder and re-do the soldering as long as the pots are not damaged severely from the "bad soldering"...This is a time to consider learning how to solder, because you can save yourself a lot of money, time, sanity, and patience if you learn to solder and do other aspects of guitar maintenance/modding/upgrading yourself. I mean your pots may be shot, but unless you've done a lot of pickup and wiring mods, I don't think they can be that bad. I almost wonder if the tech just says you need new pots because they do not want to take the time to desolder what you have...thats another reason to learn how to do your own stuff, as some guitar techs are clueless and/or will assume you are clueless and try to rip you off...

they're not that bad or damaged, just dirty and full of filth-bad solderings...
i'm a complete newbie on soldering and i prefere my tech do a last and final soldering with a fresh new originals pot and 5 way switch.
my tech has not seen my guitar inside, yet. and no, he doesn't want to rip me off. i'm not that stupid :)

do i need a left handed switch too?or a regular right handed one?

looking the picture, i never touched the tone pots. just the volume one had my...tortures :)
and the switch is a little burned on the bridge pick up plug.
