I just bought a set of Custom Shop '54 Strat pickups. There is no obvious identification or markings on them. One has a red dot on the underside of one of the coil magnets, but other than that, nothing. What is the best way to determine which one goes in which location? I noticed that the back of the package says that the bridge pickup is 6.5 K as opposed to the middle and neck pickups, 5.9K. Would a mulitmeter give a reliable indication as to which is which? I removed them from the package and have them arranged as they were packaged, but that assumes no one removed them and replaced them in the wrong order. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The one with the Red dot is the bridge pickup. The other two are supposed to be identical so it doesn't really matter which goes in the neck or middle position. A multimeter will also tell you what the DC resistance is. Generally, the stronger reading should go towards the bridge.
