I Had a 1/4 Pounder in my P-bass forever and could never EQ out the nasty upper midrange hump at around 1.2K Hz. then I heard the same complaint over on the TalkBass forum. Switched to the SPB-2 pickups and the differance is unbelievable. The bass now has a really flat response and a growl that is only surpassed by my 62 Jazz Bass (Not a junk Re-issue). Don't know what kind of amp you use, but iff you are playing into a valve amp with a 12AX7 try using a softer tube like the 12AT7 or an NOS RCA 5751 and hit the tube as hard as you can with the bass. The Seymours have almost 22K output impedance and like to look into a rally high impedance fromt end like a vacuum tube triode. kida ike the harder the pitcher throws the bll, the harder you can knock it into the bleachers.

I'm planning on getting the Basslines QP for my p-bass. They sound great. The DiMarzio's are nice too.

as for me if quarter pounders sound boomy and well I guess I kinda like it for punk tones though, you know blink 182, plus 44, fall out boy to name a few uses these pickups.. also I've heard that they are cool in blues too a very versatile pickup but its modern sounding and not too vintage-y
