new to the forum ive played strats and tele's for ever but have now started experimenting on different pickups, i have a 2004 deluxe strat that had the s-1 system in it, i liked it but wasnt crazy about the s-1 so i pulled it and put in a set of vanzants from acme guitar, way to noisey, i then put in a combo of texas specials and a pearly gated sd i bridge with a custom wiring harness from gribling engineering which sounded great but again i built a custom charvel so i decided to put my strat back full strat, i put a set of the sp amalfitano scatter wound pickups with all vintage cloth wiring, looks great but i bought a hi gain splawn amplifier to do more rock and the strat is again to noisy, my question is can i wire a sd pearly gates to a middle and neck scn's and i dont want the s-1 wiring so just hss, is there a special way to wire the scn's to a double coil to keep the sncs and humbucker working right? ive heard it wont sound good but i see the dh-1 with vintage noiseless but i dnt see any scns with a sd, any help would be great!

I dont get any hiss or noise from my scn's, even through my 2203kk on full gain. I'd be looking at my leads or other effects for the source of noise.

My scn'd guitar is a 57 hotrod with a dimarzio tonezone in the bridge position and scns in the mid and neck. Also it has no shielding whatsoever, not even around the pot/switch area and its silent. It functions perfectly well, no unusable sounds from the pickup selections. I cant see why you wouldnt get a similar result with a duncan pickup.

yeah lookup the 57 vintage hotrod strat schematic in the support section of this site. cross reference the dimarzio in that with your seymour wiring schematic and there you go.
