The original ones on the guitar. The Ventures used them and cant get more surf than that unless youre a Dick Dale fan which Im not. He used a Strat to.

Mine are the original singles but lots of folks dont like the buzz. The amp will make a great diff in sound to but overall the singles are the way to go for surf...in my opinion. I want to try the noisless but havent gotton around to that yet and not really sure if I want to.

I have a '65 Reissue Deluxe Reverb amp, so it'll probably sound good, i was reccomended the noiseless, but don't know how they sound for surf.

I agree.

I believe the correct AMP is the most important part of the surf sound.
It's not a Marshall sound!

"Surf music is a definite style of heavy staccato picking with the flowing sound of a reverb unit to take away the flat tones on the guitar and make the notes seem endless. Very heavy guitar strings are used to elongate the sound from the vibration of the strings, not the feedback qualities of an amplifier. It becomes a very in-depth combination of things that, when put together, spells out true surf music."

hello Surfman,

57/62's are a classic pickup
I got in my 60th commemorative Strat
I think I'll go play it now and try
to do that Dick Dale thing.

Cheers.

CS 54's are stock on the Dick Dale Strat, and would get you there. As would 57/62s. You could also try Seymour Duncan Antiquity II Surfurs.
