Hi everyone,

i just opened my John Mayer Sig. Strat and found some oddly labeled Big Dipper pickups.
From other pictures I’ve seen, these PUs are usually labeled like JM BR, JM MD, JM NK.

In my Strat, however, they labeled the Mid PU (yellow cable) with „NK“ and the Neck with „NECK + Date“.
Is there a System behind this? Did they put a neck PU on the bridge position? I’m a bit confused :D

Thanks for your help!

How about this for an explanation: the worker marking the pickups messed up the middle one, cursed a lot and marked the neck pup so nobody opening the guitar in the future would ever get confused with it.

(The mid pup; yellow/black wires for RWRP = OK.)
