Hey everybody,
Does anyone know if a new MIM standard strat is routed to accept humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions?
Thanks

They are routed for single coils with a single HB rout at the bridge. If you want 2x HB then you will need a router and a friendly, skilled, wood-worker.

It's worth doing though - see www.strathbeg.com/custom_guitars.htm

Good luck
Oliver

Well, you can always try Single Coil Humbuckers for the positions where it's wired for single coils.

Try the Seymour Duncan Hot Rails, Dimarzio Super Distortion s, Dimarzio Tone zone S, Seymour Duncan JB Junior, Seymour Duncan Lil 59, Dimarzio Fast Track 2.
They are single coiled size, but sound like a fully blown Humbucker :D

glad i saw that pic of the standard, although I thought the neck and middle PUP were only big enough for a SC w/o routing?

Only the bridge rout can accomodate a full sized humbucker; the middle MAY accomodate up to a P-90 size (same as mini-humbucker) and the neck will only accomodate a single coil.
