Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy an original Fender hardcase for my stratocaster and I found out that a new model has just been put on the market.
The Fender Classic Serie wood case (tweed) replaced the usual Pro tweed hardcase.
Does anyone know what the differences are ? dimensions, materials, locks, weight ...
Thank you for any help.

Andrea

The made-in-USA G&G case will typically last for several human lifetimes, absent a serious accident or abuse. The cheaper Vietnamese-made replacement *might* last a couple of years before latch and/or hinge failure renders it unusable.

You get what you pay for.

I agree with you about the better quality of G&G case, but I'm comparing two cases at the same price level : both cost about 110 euro.
I'm trying to understand in what the new model "Classic" is different from the old model "Pro".
That's all.

Probably only the name is different.
The old "Pro" was the budget model... I paid about $200 USD here in the US for a G&G black with orange plush interior. This has the same "almost triangular" accessory compartment, the guitar lays at an angle with the headstock near the hinge.

The black Fender "Pro" series is $110 USD and has a black interior, the guitar lays straight (headstock centered) and has a double-door pair of accessory compartments on either side of the neck.
The Tweed Fender "Pro" series is the same price and laid out the same, but has an orange interior.
The Fender Deluxe tweed case is the same price and design as the first black one I mentioned.

So if the "Classic" is about the same price as the "Pro", it is not likely a USA G&G case. It's probably the Vietnamese case Arjay referred to.
FWIW, the quality on the G&G cases has been dropping. The fit and finish on mine is not anywhere close to what it was on my original '78, and a small amount of pressure on one of the hinges will pop the latch.
If you want a good quality case that'll last a long time, I'd go with the ABS case. I have one of these too and it is rock solid.
