I got my very first electric back in November for my birthday and I don’t know how to install the whammy bar on it. It’s just a squier strat (I’m not really sure if that’s all I put because it doesn’t really say anything else on it) and it came with a little package with one larger Allen wrench and a much smaller, thinner one with a spring with kind of a hook on one end and a complete loop on the other, it doesn’t press downward but bends mostly I’m not sure if I’m asking a pointless question or not or if it really pertains to a whammy bar ///: the bar itself just screws in but doesn’t do anything. Any advice?

The bar screws into the bridge.
The spring with a hook and a loop is an extra tremolo spring in case you want to make the tremolo action more stiff.
The two allen wrenches are for adjusting the truss rod and bridge saddles.

You say "the bar screws in but doesn't do anything."

That suggests a setup issue. The trem springs (in the rear cavity under the plastic backplate) are adjusted too tight, pulling the bridge down hard against the body.

Many people who don't use the trem intentionally setup their Strats like that.

Is it a previously-owned guitar? Strats typically ship with 3 springs installed, plus 2 more in the bag. Previous owner may have installed one of the extra springs to "deck" the trem.
-------------------
Remove the backplate.

There are two ways to adjust spring tension. The springs attach to a floating "claw" that's connected to the body by two screws. Loosening/tightening those screws reduces/increases spring tension.

And/or you can add/remove springs.
----------------
There's a setup guide on the Fender website. And many tutorials on the web.

I can explain the trem setup process if you want, but this Forum's weird "first post delay" often results in first-time posters thinking they're being ignored, so they never come back after their first post. So I won't type paragraphs detailing setup until I know you want them.

Welcome to the Forums, sixspennce. There are no pointless questions, unless someone asks a question that has already been answered a hundred times. Have fun. There are a lot of great people here!
