Most Strats are routed for a humbucker in the bridge and neck positions.

As near as I can tell, all "flavors" of Strat HH were discontinued after the 2007 model year. That's why I decided to buy a new Standard Strat SSS (Electron Blue/rosewood), and will convert it to a Double Fat Strat using Fender Atomic Humbuckers and the 3-way switch from my Fender Standard Tele (once I mod. it). I figure my conversion Strat HH will be great for playing rhythm with my FSR Straight Six Strat on lead.

Not true. My new 2008 Am Strat is routed in the bridge and neck for Humbuckers. Drop in the new pickups and pickguard and you are set.

Prior to the HH or double fat Strats they made a Big Apple Strat with two humbuckers. I had been trying to score one on eBay for quite a while before giving up.

You'll get a "rock" sound out of them, but it won't sound just like a Gibson.
