Just purchased this pedal, and having a little bit of trouble with the power source. Works great on battery. The user manual suggest a 9VC power adapter at 120 - 130 mA. I don't have one.
The internet says that the pedal will 'draw' only the amperage it needs, so a connector with a higher amp rating should be fine. However, the manual provides a '120mA @ 9VDC +/ 130mA @ 9VDC' statement, which leads me to believe that I should not use a connector greater than 130mA. Can the device tell whether a connector is greater than 130mA? When I looked on Guitar Center's web site they offered a couple at 300mA. If not can someone suggest a name brand? are there better quality power adapters?

Fender site recommends at least 150mA 9vdc with negative Centre pin so make sure you check and buy a supply with the correct polarity.
Yes you could go for something with more mA. :D

Yep, j_j covered the basic question above; you feed a pedal with more mA's than it needs.

But to go a bit further. I'd suggest thinking of what you want in your future dream pedalboard, and investing in a good power supply right from the start.

My 'must-have feature' recommendation in a power supply unit would be isolated outputs.
After that, the choice depends on the budget, number & type of outputs needed, size, color and the angular displacement of stars.

On brands, the two that frequently pop up in the 'best of' lists are T-Rex and Voodoo Lab - there are of course a lot of other good brands. Googling 'best power supply guitar pedal' will give you more options that you need.

+1 on the caveat regarding polarity (why these haven't been standardized decades ago is beyond me).

:x

And jmattis offers good advice regarding isolated outputs. As well, you might think about buying a power brick with both 9VDC and 18VDC jacks since many pedals (Fulltone among them) perform at their best with the higher voltage.

120ma would be the minimum. It is no different from your amplifier, which might be listed on the back panel as 180w, which would be only about 1.5a, but your wall plug can deliver 15-20a before the breaker trips.... or your car stereo, which might only draw 10a, but the battery can put out 200+

The pedal is the same way. A 120ma power supply is adequate. A 300ma power supply will work fine. a 100ma power supply will run hot and *possibly* blow its internal fuse (if the pedal actually draws 120ma).

I'm going to have to dig out the pedalboard that I built in the late 70s.
The outputs are not isolated, but it's a big honkin' transformer with three 2,200mfd filter caps in LC stacks both before and after the 9v regulator. I put the thing on my scope into a small load and there was no ripple on the DC line right up to the point that the 10a DC breaker tripped. When I killed the master switch, the DC side pilot LED would glow for over a minute before those filter caps bled down.
Ahh... such is the luxury of building a one-off for yourself. It may cost more than a production model, but the difference in cost to double or triple the component ratings to make the thing bulletproof is only a small percentage, that doesn't work out on a production line.
Honestly, I don't remember any commercial power supplies at the time with multiple outlets... everyone just ran batteries, or stacked wall-warts on power strips.
Mine was a project box with twelve 1/4" output jacks and a 110v duplex for my Morley WVO.

The adapter cables were a pain. My tuner didn't have an external power input, and I never could find the right coax plug for one of my oddball pedals, so for those I just adapted into a 9v battery clip. My Aria compressor was coaxial, my DOD were 1/8" (even my "newest", the FX69 "Grunge"), and yes, polarity was a problem. I color coded the plugs on the adapter cables to a matching dot on the pedals with nail polish.

Great. I picked up a One-Spot dc power source. Works wonderful, looks great. Thanks Fender!
