I'm in the process of rehabbing my Strat, which has two '76 single coils and a '78 - their ohm readings are 6.08 / 5.82 and 6.73 when test pre-installation.

I just completed wiring everything up and, before screwing the pick guard back on to the body, I re-tested the pickups, this time via the output jack wires and am now getting 5.95 / 5.69 and 6.53.

I realize that ohm readings aren't the end-all-be all and, f further, that the difference here is minuscule, but thought I'd check to see if that's expected (now that the signal is going through pots/capacitors/etc.

Reality check, pls?

That kind of a difference could even be from different temperature while measuring...
The numbers strongly suggest that the wiring is as it should, so unless there's something wrong with the sound, forget about it.

The volume pot is in parallel with the pickups.
It's only 2%, so it's not a significant impact on the value, but it is measurable.

I'm quite sure I had the volume and tone pots both turned all the way up, FWIW. Regardless, thanks for the input - doesn't sound like something I need to worry about.

Even turned up, they are still in the circuit.
Since the volume pot is connected across the input jack, with no pickups at all, you would read ~250,000ohms.
This value will be in parallel with the pickups, which will ever so slightly reduce the measured resistance of the pickups. In this case, you are seeing a difference of about 130-200 ohms which would be expected and is insignificant.
