Hi guys, Im working on a strat right now and cant figure out the aggressive hum im getting whenever the middle pickup is active. All the wiring seems correct. Its got a lace pickup in the neck and bridge and a stock pickup in the mid, which is the one causing the hum. Pic of wiring included.

Picture is not showing up.

The Lace Sensors are not the same as the stock pickups, and are noiseless by design.
The stock pickups do tend to be noisy... VERY noisy at high gain settings. With stock wiring, the middle pickup is RWRP to effectively act as a humbucker when combined with the neck or bridge, but on its own, it can be noisy.

Do you have an audio clip of the noise?

I don't think that is a middle pickup where the yellow/white would tell it's RWRP to its original companions.
The screws make me think it's an "American Standard Hot Bridge Pickup" from the Delta Tone™ era. (Those screws, AFAIK, are always in the bridge pup.)

Anyways, I think CB91710's diagnose is right - the quietness of the noiseless Laces make the un-noiseless seem hummier - that's probably why Laces are mostly used as a whole set.
The soldering, especially on the vol pot, could be a lot tidier, but I don't know if cleaning it helps with the hum.

And here's the pic - the forum's IMG-command works best with the pic address; starting with 'http' or 'https' and ending in 'jpg.
