Well, this is the best block that Fender offers, and will likely improve tone/sustain over nearly any other stock Fender block. However, it is not the best block that you can get for your Strat, that honor belongs to Callaham, and some guy in England (can't recall his name), both use CRS for their blocks.

It seems clear to me that the best Fender blocks are a softer steel, perhaps leaded steel, but not CRS in any shape or form. The paint on the "Pure Vintage" doesn't help either.

Ahh thanks. I've been reading up. Apparently the Fender Vintage block won't fit onto my trem. Mine has narrower string spacing.

Callaham also makes a block for the 2-1/16" string spacing. The website lists blocks by make/model.

That's the one I put in my American Special and it made a big difference in tone and sustain over the
stock one...I also installed a bone nut and Raw Vintage Saddles too...Big leap in tone...
I tried the Raw Vintage Tremolo Springs , But I did not like them...I put the stock 3 that comes with the guitar
And it was much better with the tremolo staying in tune...JMHO - YMMV...
