I'm a left-handed player who just got a new 2015 American Standard. My question is this...Why are the knobs labeled backwards? As the volume or tone is increased, the number gets smaller. Very confusing for a lefty setting up guitar to have to "figure out" the correct number to set to. When I want volume "3", I have to turn the knob to "8" and vice versa. PITA if you have to constantly look at it when changing. Someone needs to call the vendor and correct this problem. The numbers should match the adjustment, not do the opposite of intended setting. The knob numbers need to be labeled in the opposite direction....

For the good looking on knob number, you'll have to replace the pots but they will need to turn counter-clocwise to go to 10

As I read with Google, years ago Fender use Reverse Audio pot wich need to be turn counterclockwise to maximum volume and for the right number on the knob.
Reverse Audio pot are more expensive than regular Audio pot you may have and can't be wire reverse
The knob will show wrong number. Is it a cost cutting use for Fender or ....?

Thanks for the link...it helped to explain the confusion I was having. My nearest Luther is 250 miles away and backed up on work for 2 months but it will be worth the wait if this can be fixed...

With mods ( new pots ) you'll have to turn counterclockwise to read right numbers position. You don't mind of that ?

I just want the knob numbers to reflect the actual volume and tone level instead of what I'm seeing. With my left hand the knob should turn counter-clockwise to increase volume and tone. My right hand would be turning clockwise or the opposite of my left. Thus I see the need for pots and knobs to be reversed to match what each hand would normally do...

I'm not sure how old your are, but take it from a "lefty" that is closing in on my 6th decade, being a lefty is a PITA.

If you are young, try to learn new things right handed. I play right handed because when I started I could not stand to pass by all the wonderful guitars that are made right handed. I also learned to play golf right handed because left handed clubs were to hard to find.

I too am heading into my sixth decade soon. I started playing on my tenth birthday when my mom bought me a right-handed Strat knock off from Sears years ago. I played that way for decades but never achieved the speed to play leads right-handed. I always played rhythm or bass and figured that was all I had in me but my brain kept telling me to go left-handed. I finally got that opportunity last summer when I had traded a bunch of items to get this left-handed Strat. Mostly guitars I had collecting dust. Five to be exact. I have practiced daily to re-learn chord placements and teach my brain the reverse of what I had learned before. Now I'm jamming to my favorite blues and rock tunes but I still mess up at times thinking right versus left. I was only disappointed to find the knobs were not correct for a true left hander. Fender has been in business for a long time and I assumed this was just a mistake made at the factory but a bunch of lefties have said they use the same controls for both. That seemed like nonsense at first but I'm starting to think they might be right after all. One thing it has made me aware of is lefties are unique but there are a lot of us. I'm a machinist by trade and my brother just happens to be an electrical engineer. We are going to tackle this problem and develop our own controls. At least on mine anyway but if we are successful who knows. Maybe one day you might see a Puddknocker lefty for sale...lol

I admire and commend such entrepreneurism -- I hope you're successful. If you know of someone with a 3D printer, the "southpaw" knobs may be less of a challenge than you think.

Why not just swap the connections on the 2 outside lugs of the volume pot? The taper might be different, the rotation would be backwards to what it is now, but the numbers would then reflect the volume level.
