folks - I have a question for those that might know.
I bought a set of Jazz bass pickups on Ebay - they arrived today. The description said they were 2001 American Standard Jazz bass pickups w/ covers along with the control plate and potentiometers. no knobs, screws.
They don't look like American Fender pickups to me. The pots are small diameter and the pu covers are closed - no visible pole pieces. Is it possible these came from a special run or an active set or something? I've seen these smaller pots on Japanese and other Asian instruments before and I've never seen these closed pickup covers except on EMGs and Barts. Are these truly American Fender parts or have I been duped?
I don't want to give the guy who sold them to me any grief unless I know the facts. Your expertise will help. Thanks guys. :?:
here's the listing w/ a pic.

I'll try them. good idea. I have a sneaking suspicion I'll find out these are non-Fender parts. I've been searching all over a picture of a Fender bass with these pickup covers. so far, nada except for the Dimension bass, but that was a P/J configuration. hmm
