Nice pics, but I'm gonna be guessing. I'd say not from a single set for sure. Never seen a painted pole piece set? Looks balanced enough to work as a set though.

Hard to say with any certainty but the DCR's shown might be consistent with Texas Specials, especially since the pickup marked "6.58K" is reverse-wound/reverse-polarity -- the yellow and black leads are the giveaway. However, I've never TS's with a gray bobbin as with the 5.86K coil. Its hand-written inscription is noteworthy.

Thanks guys

I got these from a guy who said the first one with the grayish bobin came out of a 60s telecaster body, and had it's ears cut off to fit in the bridge position. The other two he said are newer repros from the fender custom shop, but other than that... that's all the info he had!

I am looking forward to trying them in my '06 sunburst highway one strat which currently has '08 am std pickups and electronics, once I figure how to install the one that has been cut

maybe double sided tape and a new blank bobbin bottom, might require a little longer adjustment screws. Or you could probably hot wax them together, I wouldn't go w/ anything more permanent.

Great suggestion, thanks! I have some cheap leftover pickup parts and may be able to put something together. Maybe I don't even need any kind of tape or glue, the screw might hold it in place with the plastic cover...

You'll find longer screws on the DiMarzio web site -- their Virtual Vintage line requires them because the bobbins are taller. Available in chrome, gold, and black.

Let us know how those pickups sound once you get them installed.

I see this is from October but it looks like this section of the forum moves pretty slow.

Just want to suggest, instead of double-sided tape, you could go with industrial-strength velcro. It's strong but would allow you to easily remove and replace the pickup as needed without changing the tape. I'm just not sure if velcro would be too thick to fit in the cavity.

Finally what I ended up doing to install the pup with the cut off ears:
Cutting the bottom of the plastic bobbin of a chinese knock off strat pickup that I had laying around, and using it as a kind of base plate. No glue or tape used, as the pickup cover and the plastic base hold the bobbin in place all right :D .

The stock screws were still usable. So it ended up sounding great in the neck position, with a lovely bouncy tone. The set as a whole sounds very good, very balanced and clear in all positions, and really low noise for a strat. Need to play a little bit with pickup height, but loving it so far!
