A friend's Father passed away and I was given this guitar as a gift. Unfortunately I don't play, wish I did. Long story short, this guitar was manufactured in Anaheim, California and has a V2 on the inside. The serial on the back is 06274. In researching it appears these are 1954 to 1955 numbers. Other than that I can't find much regarding this guitar.
If anyone could add or elaborate on the info above, I would appreciate it. I believe I have a nice piece of history here. Maybe not. I have a picture of the plate and serial number. I'll try to get it in here. Thank you kindly.

You've been looking at electric guitar serials

Ha! Man I had some big dreams going on. I appreciate the reply. Guess I should just learn to play the thing. Maybe it'll make me feel better than any cash I'd get for it.
Thanks again.

Hey be advised that the MSRP listed was its original sale price not its current value

That "over 1K" price has to be the asking price of the seller. That often doesn't correlate with the final price

1960's Newporter sold for $250

You can ask whatever you want getting it is a different matter, I only saw three 1960's era on ebay. $995, $1495, and $1195. However no bids, there is on on Reverb(1969 Black) $1495, also found some sold on GM for much less ($250-$350, guess its only worth what someone will pay for it.
