So in addition to holding down bass and backing vox duties in my new outfit I've decided to start performing soon as a solo acoustic artist. I've never actually owned my own guitar. This is my first. Picked her up at a steal from Musician's Friend on a sale. Used the money I saved to get the Fender hardcase for her. Just arrived today. Beautiful tone. The Doa really gives the guitar a distinct voice different from any other Fender Sonoran I tried. The neck is absolutely beautiful. Very happy with her so far. Fender acoustics have really come a long way in the past 10 years. Can't wait to get to work.

That is one sweet looking guitar. I agree that Fender Acoustics have come a long way . I own a CD60CD in Mahogany and just got a brand new, DG-60 last Friday. They're both amazing instruments.

Cool! I actually tried one of the CD60's in Mahogany before ordering my Sonoran. I LOVED the tone of it. It really stood out, and looked amazing. I found I was more comfortable on the Sonoran necks coming from the big vintage style Precision necks as a bassist. The more traditional acoustic necks feel very cramped to me. If Fender ever does a full mahogany version of the Sonoran I would be all over it for sure.

My only experiences with Fender acoustics prior to my recent search was my girlfriend's old starter kit acoustic from like 10 years ago. It definitely wasn't a bad guitar for under a hundred dollars, but it wasn't much fun to play. This past summer one of my old bands got together for a reunion show and our singer/guitarist had moved from her hollowbody electric Gretsch 5120 to the Tim Armstrong Hellcat and I was blown away by the tone and quality of it. When I decided to dip my toes in the solo acoustic pool it was really the reason I even gave Fender another chance at my business and I'm very glad I did.
