I bought myself a 4-string Mando Strat a while back. Fun little thing to play.

Anyone out there have any recommendations on mandolin strings, a soft shell case that will fit well, and maybe a small stand? I've tried to find information on these Mando Strat mysteries online but haven't any luck.

Thanks in advance!

I also have the 4 string Mando. I found a Roadrunner soft bag that fits perfectly. Nice heavy padding, an inside pocket for the cable and the outside pocket holds my fender mini amp perfectly. Cant complain about the gig bag.

Finding strings was a real challenge. I finally had to order Fender Electric Mando strings from Guitar Center and wait 5 days. They were less than 5 bucks a pack and each pack has 8 strings. I ordered 4 packs, so I guess I have enough strings to last quite a while.

I do have a problem with the G string vibrating all the time. I pluck the D string and the G string vibrates. I can't stop it from doing this! Have you had the same experience? Two Fender techs said there was nothing they could do to stop it. It's annoying, but I learn to live with it...

Just a long shot on that G-string autoplay: try a piece of some soft material (old school was cigarette filter...) under the strings on the headstock side of the nut. It may change the resonance frequensies just enough.
