Which guitar is of the highest quality of the Kingman, Malibu, or Sonoran. I have heard that the malibu is of poor quality and the Kingman is a step up from the Malibu....

I haven't heard the best words about Malibu either... the best way to find out is to go to your local store and try them all

Kingman is the best out of all. Then sonoran then malabu. I love my kingman (hence the name) :D I use it all the time. It is my main instrument (next to my Gretsch) I have the "first series" Kingmans which to me, is the natural ones with black pickguard, mustache bridge, vintage tuners and some other stuff. The electronics are the same, love my built in tuner!

Heres the New Kingman:

heres a pic with me and my trusty kingman

Hope that helps!!

I have the beginning model of the kingman (in 05 when they started to make them.) It also has mahogany neck and back and sides and mustache bridge and has black pickguard and vintage tuners the new one does not.

I also have one of the older Kingman SCE guitars which I like better than the newer ones...altho the new ones are nice...I like the looks and vintage vibe of the older korean made ones, I think the new ones are being made in china..(could be wrong).
Originally the Kingman was called the "KING" and it came out in the 60's, it didn't sell well.....so it was didcontinued until the korean models came out.
Just thought i'd share info with Kingman lovers....I love mine!

peace

I'd put in a vote for the Sonoran Custom SCE, but only because I've recently tried one; definitely not bad, for something priced at $300.00. Wild_Rose is right, though...try them all. And better than that, try several of each model, if possible. The one that grabs at your heart strings, and gives a hearty tug...buy that one. :)
