Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum so I hope I'm posting this question in the correct category. I just picked up one of the new Acoustasonic 150 acoustic amps and I've noticed a pervasive hissing noise coming from the speakers on both channels. It's worse on the blackface voicing than any of the others which is strange since it's the lowest gain setting of the electric guitar models on the amp. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this particular problem with the new Acoustasoic amps or any other Fender amp for that matter. I like the tone of the amp but the hissing issue makes me think that I may have gotten a bad one. I just wanted to check with other Acoustasonic owners before I sent it back for a replacement. Thanks and good evening. :)

I bougt a 150 some months ago, and there are no hiss or other background noise on it.

My best sugestion is that you try an other cable between the guitar and the amp.

A bad cable will give the problem you adress.

I'm having a similar problem. The hissing sound is present even without an instrument or mic cable plugged in to the amp. The sound is emanating from the MIC channel and is always present but gets louder when the Volume control for the MIC channel is turned up.

Any ideas?

I think that there may have just been a flaw in the one I bought and probably yours as well. I tried everything I could think of to make the problem go away but the noise persisted. I sent it back thinking that I would get another one to see if it did the same thing but I decided to get another brand of amp instead just to see how it would compare to the Acoustasonic. I haven't had any problems with the new amp since I've had it and I'm using the same cables, power source and pedals as with the Acoustasonic. On a whim, though, I went to my local Guitar Center to see if their new Acoustasonics had the same issue and, although there was a slight hum present, it wasn't nearly as bad as the one I got. My advice would be to either exchange it for another one or try out some of the other amps in the same price range. You might also try to find one of the older Acoustasonics used as the one I tried at Guitar Center sounded quite good. Good luck. :)
