The difference is the CD140 is made with a solid spruce top and the CD60 has a laminate spruce top; basically thin plywood with a nice looking top layer . The solid top will likely be more responsive and louder because the wood can vibrate more freely than the laminate top which will be stiffer due to the glue that holds the layers together as well as the non-uniformity of the grain in each layer. Solid top guitars also tend to improve and sound better over time as they are played more whereas a laminate top will sound pretty much the same 20 years from now.

The only real advantage of a laminate top is durability. A hit that might make a ding in a laminate top might go clean through a solid top. I have a couple of laminate guitars that are my hack-around, campfire, house-party guitars. I'll take them to places I would not take my solid top.

Cheers, hope this helps,

Hello MevagisseyMedic
If you're careful and you have a good hardshell case there's no reason you can't take your 140 to the park. Just be sure to put it in the case if the weather turns rainy.

As to the which sounds better I couldn't say I've never played either of them and sound preference is entirely subjective, what sounds good to one person may not sound good to another set of ears. My previous comments were on the general advantages and disadvantages of solid and laminate guitar tops.

Happy Strumming, Cheers!
