hey all Fender lovers and users , i've been facing a serious issue and haven't been able find a solution of that ...
I have a Fender CD 60 CE acoustic guitar. The other day , i took all the strings out of my guitar and wanted to clean it up as well as load it up with a brand new set of strings...
The thing is that after I had installed the strings on my guitar , and tuned it..... i have seen a difference in sound in my guitar... :?
like , the TREBLE string are louder....that the bass strings....
and whenever i'm plugging it into my amp , i'm hearing this same problem !!! :x :(
this is really giving me a lot of trouble... :x
requesting immediate assistance........ :x

What kind of string you install ? and your old strings ? Same gauge ?
Acoustic sound ( no amp ) is only a matter of strings and guitar wood.
You have the same guitar as before, but you have new strings.

Maybe your old strings was so old their sound was dull , muffed. Now with new strings the brightest string seem to be louder because they are new. You discover what is a new set.

I had fender factory supplied strings presiously.....
then , i had equipped my guitar with a pack of D'Addario string set....
now , the thicker strings are sounding a bit dull.........the treble strings are much more louder...
Can that be a problem of the saddle ???
any thoughts ???

I had Dura-Tone® Coated 80/20 Bronze (.012-.052 Gauge) equipped on my guitar ,...
and then i replaced it with a D'Addario (0.10-0.50 Gauge) set of strings.........

And whenever i'm plugging it in my amp the treble strings are louder than the bass strings......
Why is it happening???

Smaller 6th string = low volume
smaller 1 st stright = probalby same volume because of their frequency ; high ?

Maybe you should return at the same string's gauge or to Dura-Tone set

OKKKK !
Will buy a set Dura-Tone tomorrow ..... :)
But that amp sound problem ???
Will the new strings resolve the problem that i' facing right now???

And , another thing , the saddle.....If that's not properly inserted, can it make an unbalanced tone in an acoustic guitar ?????????

Saddles , if not in is right place , I mean in the bothom of their location , the string is to far from the guitar top and result is low volume fot this sting.

But you can see if the saddle ( Bridge ) is at his place no ?
In acoustic guitar we call saddle ; a bridge, becaue is in one piece. But I never see this fender guitar. I talk about "standard " acoustic guitars. On picture this Fender look standard.

There are only one moving part and it is the bridge , so it is easy to see if is at his place.

The sound / amp ;

If in acoustic playing the sound is no good , the amp will reproduce this sound.

Will a new set will resolve the problem;

I don't know. Maybe you like old strings 's dull sound ? Maybe you like Dura -Tone strings or maybe you like 012 - 052 not 010 - 050 or not d'addario ?

Be sure your bridge is ok , just look and see another guitar if not sure

subhra_rock,
You shouldn't need to buy the same brand but I wouldn't go to a string gauge as light as .010 - .050 I'd stick with 0.12 - .052.

I've never seen acoustic strings that light in gauge, are you sure you didn't buy a set of electric strings?

cheers and good luck!

They do make acoustic strings in a .10 gauge, but I agree that the change in tone probably is being caused by going from .12s to .10s. I'd try going back to the old string gauge and see if that fixes the problem.

Also check the bridge saddle to make sure it didn't slip out of place when you changed strings.

Most players will recommend changing strings one at a time (as opposed to taking them all off at once) to avoid posible intonation problems.

And make sure the strings are properly wound around the tuning pegs.

Good luck!
