i have a qustion do you think that an acoustic can play lead in a band if there is an electric in the band also? :?: cuz i was gettin ready to start a band and this ghetto kid told me that if there is an electric in the band you cant play lead on an acoustic/electric

You better have a good sound system, because acoustic guitars are notorious for feedback when they get loud. The playing may be the same, but the variiety of tone is extremely limited with an acoustic, so you have to bring in effects, and they work better with an electric guitar. Yeah, you can play lead in a band on acoustic guitar, but why?

Yeah, acoustic guitars make awesome lead instruments, but what kind of music does your band play? Because that changes everything.
