I have a Fender F-25 Acoustic that I bought back in 1978.

The frets are worn off an I need to replace them.

Does Fender sell frets?

where can you purchace a set?

WHat material would be best?

Stainless Steel? Bronze? Ceramics?

What angle should be used?

How do you get the old frets removed and

what type of glue is best to use on the new frets.

also what brand, type & gage string set would play best with the F-25?

Any Helpful tips?

Better to see a good luthier . He will have answer ( and frets ) for all your questions.

You want to do the job yourself ? This need tools and very good knowledge.

Im not helpless; like a lot of the polititions in Washington

Given enough time and Money I can accomplish anything.

Figured that since Fender built the Guitar that they would know the design specifications
if they dont have the answers maybe I should be looking at just buying a new Gibson Les Paul?

3/4 Beat.

Why do you need spec from Fender ; kind of glue, material of fret......

Sorry but if you need to ask that I'm afraid you do not have the skill and tools to do the job right. New frets installation is the biggest job on guitar IMO
A few look on the web you'll will have those informations or buy books written by Dan Elewine.

I applaud your Do it Yourself spirit but I also recommend you go to a luthier before you do anything. You may not even need new frets, you may just need a fret dress which will level the frets down to the same level, re-crown and polish them.

Refretting a guitar that you have some attachment to is probably not where you want to start learning guitar repair. Frets are not simply glued on to the fingerboard but held in by a barbed tang under the fret crown that fits in a slot cut in the fingerboard. If you remove them improperly you may damage the fingerboard to the point where the slots will not hold the new frets.

If you're determined to do it yourself I'd start by searching on YouTube. There are literally tons of videos out there by guitar techs and luthiers that illustrate everything from how to restring a guitar to doing a neck reset, be warned they can be addictive. :)

Good luck,
