Hi guys,

first time here hope you can help. I bought Tim Armstrong sig guitar a few months back and after i changed the strings a had a problem with the pick up. It was way out of balance with the low E being much louder than the rest. I eventually got round to taking it back to the store I bought it in and the guy there kinda showed me how to fix it. So it was fine until the next time i changed the strings then it was back to the original problem. The store is a long journey from my home and I live in Korea too so it's not that easy to understand what the guy is saying.Any of you have any suggestions on hoe to fix the problem.

When I play with the pickup and cover it with the bridge and tap alaong it it all sounds okay but then when I put the strings on it gets messed up again.

It would be helpful if you mention it's a Gretsch guitar. In this case you are not in the proper forum, Unless Tim Armstrong also uses the Fender?

I see no relationship between change strings and then have a problem with pickups.
You must do a bad strings installation or move something.
Too bad you do not remember what the seller show you got to the store to resolve your problem.

Why not a phone call to the store ?

Good luck

The pickup is under the saddle at the bridge. I know how to change strings but the saddle is very loose. As I said I'm in Korea so the language barrier is a problem so can't call the store.

Ok now I know what kind of guitar you have ; fender acoustic with on board transducer.
Your problem is because your bridge is not properly seated.

You remove all the stings before put the news ones right ? Not one by one. And the bridge move.

Just loosse all your string . Enough to move the bridge and put it in is right place. If you pull the bridge you can remove it and see the transducer under. Position the bridge at the bottom of is place. Push it straight .

Now I presume it is not straight , it don't have contact with the transducer and you have no sound.
